Mr. Battelle became a house hold name to females nationwide in the 1960's. He is credited for Marilyn Monroe's classic soft coils, Jackie Kennedy's bouffant hair, and has worked with the likes of Audrey Hepburn as well as Lauren Bacall.
Olive Benson
This master hair designer was responsible for many of the popular African American hairstyles that are still sought after today. Her salon was the first to offer advanced curly hair techniques and care for African American hair, and was the first African American to receive a number of hairdressing awards.
Christiaan Houtenbos
This internationally known editorial hair stylist has been in the business for 40+ years. He has worked with some of the most famous celebrities, including Deborah Harry of Blondie, model and actress Grace Jones and, more recently, David and Victoria Beckham. He is known for creating the cutting technique known as "the undercut", his edginess, independence and creativity.
Paul Mitchell
As co-founder of the world-renowned Paul Mitchell brand, products are available in stores everywhere across the globe, and he has been a household name since the 1970's and 1980's when his cuts appeared on the covers of magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. Many attribute Paul Mitchell with freeing women from the constraints of bouffant hairstyles.
Vidal Sassoon
Vidal Sassoon is best remembered for modernizing the bob haircut, bringing his architectural sense of geometry and structure to his angular creation. He also popularized the "wash and wear" philosophy of styling, favoring styles women could recreate quickly at home instead of having to visit a salon once a week.
